When I first started in events, I used to tell my friends they didn’t need a wedding planner. To me, this work felt intuitive. Natural. It made sense in the same way hospitality always had - we anticipate needs, understand flow and create environments where people feel comfortable and cared for.
I assumed it would feel that way for everyone. That was the wrong advice.
What felt effortless to me was the result of experience, understanding timing, logistics, guest psychology and how hundreds of small decisions shape the overall experience, anticipate challenges and quietly prevent disruption. Because while weddings may appear simple from the outside, what makes them feel seamless is anything but accidental.
